Bill Clinton: ‘Make America Great Again’ Is Veiled Call To Racists

Bill Clinton, speaking at a rally in Orlando, Florida Wednesday said Donald Trump’s campaign slogan, “Make America Great Again,” is a veiled call to racists yearning for the “good old days.”

“I’m actually old enough to remember the good old days, and they weren’t all that good in many ways,” Clinton said. “That message where ‘I’ll give you America great again’ is if you’re a white Southerner, you know exactly what it means, don’t you?”

Clinton didn’t mince words as he continued to eviscerate the Trump campaign slogan: “What it means is ‘I’ll give you an economy you had 50 years ago, and I’ll move you back up on the social totem pole and other people down.”

“What Hillary wants to do is take the totem pole down, and let us all go forward together,”  he said.

Trump has, on several occasions, made outrightly racist and tone-deaf comments about minorities. His slogan, “Make America Great Again,” has been widely criticized previously for its undertones of racist nostalgia.
